Importing Animals

Bringing a pet into Dominica, and the veterinary permit that comes first.

Animals may only enter Dominica with an import permit issued in advance by the Veterinary Division. Arriving without one means the animal is refused entry or placed in quarantine at the owner’s cost.

Requirements

Import permit applied for before travel and valid on the date of arrival.

International health certificate issued by a government veterinarian shortly before departure.

Proof of rabies vaccination within the accepted window, with a titre test where required.

Treatment for internal and external parasites, certified.

Microchip identification matching all documents.

On arrival

Animals are inspected at the point of entry. Notify the Veterinary Division of your arrival details in advance so an officer is available, particularly for weekend flights.
