Private and commercial yachts under the Dominica flag.
Private yachts register on a simpler basis than commercial ships. Owners choose Dominica for a straightforward process, recognised documentation and reasonable annual costs.
Documents
Application form with the proposed yacht name.
Bill of sale or builder’s certificate.
Deletion certificate from the previous registry.
Tonnage measurement, or a builder’s tonnage statement for smaller craft.
Owner identification, or corporate documents where a company owns the yacht.
Insurance certificate.
Commercial use
A yacht carrying charter guests is registered on the commercial side and must meet the applicable code for the size and trading area. Tell us the intended use at the start; converting later means re-surveying.
