For Citizens

Residency Permit

Permanent residency in Dominica for foreign nationals, applied for through the Consulate.

Permanent residency is granted by the Government of Dominica to applicants who can support themselves on the island and who pass a character check. It is separate from citizenship and does not itself give a passport.

Requirements

Completed application form with two references.

Valid passport with at least six months remaining.

Police certificate from your country of residence.

Medical certificate, including an HIV test.

Proof of income or financial support, and bank statements.

Six passport photographs.

Evidence of accommodation in Dominica.

After approval

A residency permit is issued for a fixed period and must be renewed. Time held as a permanent resident counts towards naturalisation for applicants who later wish to become citizens by residence.
