National Anthem
Isle of Beauty, Isle of Splendour.
The national anthem is titled Isle of Beauty, Isle of Splendour. The words were written by Wilfred Oscar Morgan Pond and the music composed by Lemuel McPherson Christian. It was adopted in 1967, when Dominica became an associated state, and carried over at independence in 1978.
When it is sung
At the opening of Parliament and at state occasions.
On Independence Day, 3 November.
At citizenship ceremonies held at the Consulate.
Before national sporting fixtures.
